Assassin's Creed: Revelations Multiplayer Game Modes Tutorial

In Assassin's Creed: Revelation's Multiplayer there are several Game Mode. Team Objective Matches and Free For All Matches. You can also join random game, or you can select a Custom Game, you can also create your own Private Matches which allow you to play with friends. Game Modes in Private Matches can start with fewer players than Public Matches.

Artifact Assault

  • 4-8 Players (Private Match Starts at 2 Players)
  • 10 Minute Time Limit
  • Team Match
In this game mode, the player must enter the territory of their enemies and capture their flag, before returning to their own camp to drop it off. The map is separated into two sections, your team's section and the enemy team's section. There will be one artifact at each team's base. Once you entered the enemy's section, you will become a Target. Go over the Artifact to steal it and take it back to your base. Using Disguise when stealing an artifact is also a good idea. If your team's artifact is stolen, you must kill the thief to bring it back to your base. You will earn a 100 XP Bonus for returning the artifact. When you steal an artifact, you will show up on the enemy's screen with a "Kill" sign over you. You will be a Target even when in your team's area. The team with the highest number of captured artifacts wins.

Easy Death-match

  • 4-8 Players (Private Match Starts at 4 Players)
  • 10 Minute Time Limit
  • Free For All Match
Easy Death-match is a Free For All game where you are assigned to assassinate a Target and a Pursuer will be assigned to assassinate you. Two players may be assigned the same Target. If that's the case, you must assassinate the target before the other player does, or you will lose your contract and must wait a few seconds for a new Target. If your Target recognizes you and stuns you, you will lose your contract and must wait a few seconds for a new Target.

There is no compass to guide the player; instead, players must use their target's portrait (located in the top right corner of the HUD) to identify and hunt them down. The inner part of the portrait lights up when one is near to their target, and the outer ring is brightly highlighted when in the line of sight of whoever the player is assigned to.
One other thing to note about Deathmatch is the size of the maps, which differ to the maps in other modes, as they are roughly one quarter of the size of the regular map; making for hectic, fast-paced games.

Manhunt

  • 4-8 Players (Private Match Starts at 2 Players)
  • 2 Rounds, 5 Minute Time Limit Each
  • Team Objective Match
According to which team the player picks at the beginning, the gameplay may be radically different. Depending on the team selected, each player has to either hunt down their targets or hide from their pursuers. The first person to join the team can choose which multiplayer character the entire team play as. A unique feature of this mode of gameplay is how each round focuses on a single strategy: Hunting your prey alongside teammates, or hiding from the hunters by use of skill and abilities.
Use the Compass to find your Targets. You can switch between each player on the other team to Target. The team with the highest score at the end of the two rounds wins the game.
Targeting the other team, it's best to use the Firecrackers to weed out the real Characters from the fakes. Closure may help to trap Targets, while Hot Pursuit or Throwing Knives will help capture escaping Targets. When being Pursued by the other team, it's best to use Disguise to hide in plain sight, but that won't last long. Disguise is best for the lower level players. Once you get to a higher level, Morph is a must. Tripwire Bomb will help stun a Pursuer if they get close, but the Smoke Bomb is best to escape.

Wanted

  • 4-8 Players
  • 10 Minute Time Limit
  • Free For All Match
Targeting
At the start of the game each player is given a target to hunt and assassinate. The Character of the target appears in the upper-right corner of the screen along with a detection meter. To aid the player, a compass at the bottom of the screen points out the direction of their target and whether they are above or below the player. This appears as a blue disc which gradually fills up when closer to the target.
If the target is below, or above it will have an "up" or "down" message in the center. The contract can be lost if the target is killed by another person, the pursuer kills a civilian or the pursuer is stunned by their target. To further help the hunter find their prey, the blue light in the compass will glow brightly when the target is in sight. Wise hunters will use this to find the individual instead of attacking a person at random. While hunting a particular person that the player is certain of being a target, a good idea is to lock on. If clicked rapidly, a running person will instantly be locked-onto, but a stealthy target should be targeted specifically by holding down the target button and releasing once they are in the cross-hairs.
Pursuers
Every player is assigned a Pursuer, or a hunter, in this game mode. Occasionally a person with less points will not be hunted by anyone, and this can be exploited by a wise player. Pursuers are shown as a red triangle icon above the respective person's player, and will appear on the target's screen if engaged in chase. The red marker may also appear if they are engaging in high-profile activities. A player must remember that Hunters are real people, just like they are; they will notice sudden movement, a group of random civilians turning into exact copies of yourself and a sprinting target. Also remember that they can be tricked, like people. This is why the Morph ability works so well. Once a Pursuer is close, the player will be able to hear Whispers and will be able to identify his pursuer as the Whispers begin when their hunter is nearby, and get louder as they get closer. During a chase, the 'Chase' meter will appear on the screen for the pursuer, or the 'Escape' meter for the target. For the pursuer, if the meter empties completely, then the contract will be lost and the target out of reach. For the Hunter, any strategy that works for them is the best kind. Some people prefer guns to kill a fleeing target, some like to poison the sneaky ones that hide in crowds. In Wanted, hunting and hiding are blended into a frenzy of action between the entire group of players, giving an opportunity to the players that surprise everyone else with their tactics.
Targets
During a game of Wanted, the 'Target' status will immediately include the player. This is a intimidating thing to realize, but it also gives the player an advantage. If they take the initiative and go on the offensive, any player can become 1st in the end. If attempting to find the target, first try to follow the directions the compass display; it will have an arrow that points towards their direction, and the width of the blue light in the compass shows how far away they are. If the blue lights up brightly, then don't run or give yourself away, as it means that they are in sight. Once close to your target, refer to the picture of the character you are hunting. Once a target has noticed you it will often try to stun you or use an ability such as Smoke Bomb to stun you and escape you, the player should try to attack from a high position where a Smoke Bomb won't affect them or attack them using a disguise, which will automatically give the pursuer a hidden bonus for that kill. Be warned, Firecrackers work whether you're on the same level as them or not . If a locked on target uses firecrackers against a pursuer, the pursuer will lose his lock on the target and will be blinded and may get stunned and the target might be able to escape.

Assassinate

This game mode is a free-for-all game mode which requires players to differentiate between NPC and player, and kill their chosen target. Players only accumulate points if successful targets have been chosen. Players do not get points for selecting and then killing civilians.
At the start of the game, players are given a modified Manhunt compass that shows all players close by. In order to obtain a contract, you must use the lock system to lock on to persona in order to initiate a contract with them. The image of the target will then appear in the upper-right corner of the screen along with a detection meter. Once the contract has been established, the Manhunt-like compass will be replaced with the regular Wanted compass and will start tracking your chosen target. Pursuers are obtained in this mode when you are locked onto by another player. When they lock, you will start glowing red, and the red triangle counter lights up. In this mode you can have up to seven Pursuers, unlike in Wanted.

Corruption

When "corrupted," your objective is to find and kill your targets as quickly as possible in order to spread your corruption. When uncorrupted, you must hide to survive as long as possible. Performing quality kills or surviving while close to corrupted Templars will boost your score.

Escort

In this type of game, the players separate into two teams of four and each team is assigned a different character to protect. This NPC (Non-player Character) ‒ or the VIP in this game mode ‒ moves to checkpoints, and the amount of checkpoints they accumulate adds to the protecting team's score. After five minutes, the roles of the teams are switched and the previous attackers now have to defend their own VIP.
Team 1 is always assigned to defend the VIPs first, whose locations will be shown by markers. There will be three or four of them, and each will be walking like an ordinary citizen through checkpoints. Once the person has gone through a checkpoint, the protecting team will be awarded points. Team 2 is immediately given a compass which will point the way to each separate target, much like Manhunt. It is recommended that teamwork is used to defeat opponents, as a single player guarding a target may be overwhelmed by a gang of three or four enemies. The hunting team must always remember that the escorters are constantly searching for someone who fits the description of their opponents; any running or abilities used in front of them will catch their attention. A wise player will use tactics such as poison or disguises to attack the target without arousing suspicion. The defenders should also use their abilities to their full extent during the match, as a Smoke Bomb or a Mute can easily turn the game in their favour.
